Friday Five: Protein Bars

Even though this was a short week due to the 4th of July holiday, it sure seemed long! So, Happy Friday! For my Friday Five this week I’m going to share with you some of my favorite protein/snack bars.

I enjoy trying new protein bars as a grab & go breakfast or a quick afternoon pick me up snack, and there are definitely those times that I bite into a bar that is just NOT GOOD! It may be too heavy, too grainy or even have that fake protein powder taste. Whatever it may be, you probably know what I’m talking about. 🙂

So, here are a few of my favorites:

1. Pure Protein
These are my favorite ones and I usually pick up one of the variety packs at Target or Amazon! I love that they all have 20+ grams of protein, they are gluten free and they only have around 2g of sugar. A winner in my book!

2. Kind Bars
These don’t have nearly the amount of protein that some of the other bars have, however, they are a great snack when you don’t want something full of peanut butter or chocolate! These bars are a great source of fiber, gluten free and only have 5g of sugar.

3. Think Thin
I found these bars while doing some grocery shopping while hungry a year or so ago. We all know grocery shopping on an empty stomach is bad news, so for a quick snack I grabbed a Think Thin bar and it did the trick. Most of them have over 20g of protein and 0g of sugar! They are also gluten free, which I love!

4. Luna Bars
Luna Bars are a favorite when it comes to protein or snack bars. They are low in sugar, gluten free and come in a TON of flavors!

5. Quest Bars
My two favorite flavors of these are the chocolate chip cookie dough and the cookies and cream! I can actually use these bars as a healthier dessert when I’m craving something sweet! They are high in protein and super low in sugar, even though they taste sweet enough to be a treat.

What are your favorite protein/snack bars? Let me know in the comments here or on Facebook as I’m always looking to try new ones.
